When you're on a variable energy tariff, the price you pay for energy can change over your contract. The default energy tariff from energy suppliers is the SVT (Standard Variable Tariff).
- The standard variable tariff sets the maximum that suppliers can charge you for energy.
- Ofgem, the government energy regulator, updates the energy price cap every three months.
- Students and Grads with a Fused contract shorter than 12 months will have a variable energy tariff.
- Any customers who aren't students or graduates will also have a variable energy tariff.
All Fused customers will get notice 30 days before any changes to their energy prices.
