You can sign up to Fused as long as you haven't already paid an energy bill at your current address.
If you've already paid an energy bill at your address, we can't take over managing the bills for you or create a bills package.
Why does a paid energy bill stop me setting up with Fused?
- A package needs to start from the date you became responsible for bills at your address, which is your tenancy start date.
- This gives a clear 'date of liability' to avoid outstanding payments, or periods when it's unclear who's responsible for bills at a particular address.
FYI: A date of liability is the date someone becomes legally responsible for bills at a particular property. They become the liable party.
Why does this matter?
It's common for energy bills to be recalculated during your tenancy.
If Fused takes over your bills after you've paid your supplier, the supplier will have two liable parties on record.
This can lead to incorrect payments if it turns out you owe or are owed money.
