I'm an individual. How do I make a DSAR for my own data?

    Fill in our DSAR form.

    You’ll need to give:

    • Full name
    • Contact details
    • Some info to help us find your data (e.g. your address or account number). 

    We'll also need to verify who you are to keep your data safe, and make sure your personal data goes to the right person (you). This means we will ask for ID confirmation. 


    How long will it take to get my data? 

    You’ll receive an acknowledgement of your  request within 3 working days. Then, the team aims to send your requested data within one month from the day your identity is confirmed and the details of your request are clear.

    If your request is complex, it might take a bit longer (up to two more months), but we'll always let you know within that first month if that's the case and what’s causing the delay.


    What if you need more information from me? 

    You’ll hear from us if we need more information to:

    • Confirm your identity
    • Fulfill your data request
      • You could hear from us with more questions about what you need, especially if you’ve requested a lot of data.

    The clock for our response will pause while we wait for extra information from you.

    E.g. If it’s been two weeks since your request, and we contact you to ask for more detail, we’ll still have two more weeks to process your request when we get the extra information from you. 


    What if you can't give me all the information I've asked for? 

    Sometimes, for legal reasons we can't share certain information (e.g. if it contains someone else's personal data, or if a legal exemption applies). If this happens, we'll explain why we can't provide it and let you know your options, including your right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).


    How will I receive my data? 

    We usually send the information electronically (e.g., via a secure email or a secure portal), as it's the quickest and safest way. If you'd prefer a hard copy by post, just let us know on the form!
